Operation Kids Help Kids: When five friends, ages 6-8, heard that the nation’s largest school for Homeless children was in Phoenix, it ignited a passion to make a difference. They knew that they were just kids, but they really wanted to help other kids, so Operation Kids Help Kids was born. During December, they passed out fliers in their hometown of Fountain Hills, requesting donations to their Operation Kids Help Kids. They spent four hours collecting donations just prior to Christmas. The kids, their passion to make a difference, and the generosity of their community amassed $1,400 in cash donations and three truckloads of clothing, toiletries, toys and food. They aren’t ready to stop yet. They are working to provide backpacks with school supplies and other necessities to the students at Children First Academy this fall.
